چکیده

Abstract Marine sediments can be stabilized by ultra high-strength binders: cement, Cement Kiln Dust (CKD) and slag. The properties of the soil indicate potential to their reuse. This study investigated performance unconfined compressive strength (UCS) in marine binder (cement, CKD, slag), tested ultrasonic P-waves. Materials include 194 specimens collected from port Gothenborg. experiment was performed Swedish Geotechnical Institute (SGI). UCS different ratio binders slag) resonance frequencies elastic significant increase (>1500 kPa) recorded for highest values CKD low correlation profiles water/high (L W /H B ) cement/slag (40/60%) were controlled curing time. slag–cement–CKD simplex tests demonstrated samples with low/high water content various cement (kg/m 3 ). time play a critical role followed mechanical intensity stress. exceed 1000 m/s results shown high accuracy (97%) non-contacting approach testing sediments. Seismic methods applied test sediments, also in-situ via seismic CPT, surface or cross hole testing.

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

A New Method for Forecasting Uniaxial Compressive Strength of Weak Rocks

The uniaxial compressive strength of weak rocks (UCSWR) is among the essential parameters involved for the design of underground excavations, surface and underground mines, foundations in/on rock masses, and oil wells as an input factor of some analytical and empirical methods such as RMR and RMI. The direct standard approaches are difficult, expensive, and time-consuming, especially with highl...

The Effect of Geopolymerization on the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Stabilized Fine-grained Soils

This study focuses on evaluating the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of improved fine-grained soils. A large database of unconfined compressive strength of clayey soil specimens stabilized with fly ash and blast furnace slag based geopolymer were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), a model has been developed to assess the UCS of stabi...

Investigating the Effect of Specimen Diameter Size on Uniaxial Compressive Strength and Elastic Properties of Travertines

Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic properties of rocks play a major and vital role for the design of any engineering structure. The specimen diameter size is one of the main factors that influencing on UCS, elasticity modulus and Poisson’s ratio (E and υ). Here, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of specimen diameter size on UCS, E and υ. Moreover, we studied the co...

3D Characterization of Uniaxial Compressive Strength of Transversely-Isotropic Intact Rocks

The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of intact rocks is one of the key parameters in the course of site characterizations. The isotropy/anisotropy condition of the UCS of intact rocks is dependent on the internal structure of the rocks. The rocks with a random grain structure exhibit an isotropic behavior. However, the rocks with a linear/planar grain structure generally behave transversely-...
